Day 19: A real dark World
The poem I am using is Rabindranath Tagore’s -where mind is
without fear.
Where the mind is without fear and the head is
held high
Where knowledge is free
Where the world has not been broken up into fragments
By narrow domestic walls
Where words come out from the depth of truth
Where tireless striving stretches its arms towards perfection
Where the clear stream of reason has not lost its way
Into the dreary desert sand of dead habit
Where the mind is led forward by thee
Into ever-widening thought and action
Into that heaven of freedom, my Father, let my country awake
Where knowledge is free
Where the world has not been broken up into fragments
By narrow domestic walls
Where words come out from the depth of truth
Where tireless striving stretches its arms towards perfection
Where the clear stream of reason has not lost its way
Into the dreary desert sand of dead habit
Where the mind is led forward by thee
Into ever-widening thought and action
Into that heaven of freedom, my Father, let my country awake
Opposite
The real dark world.
My mind looks around,
With fear in the heart.
My head is hung down,
Burdened with too much
guilt.
I pretend to do know,
But I am unaware.
Of the bitter worldly
affairs.
The world is now broken,
My people, their minds and
thoughts.
Fragments are now scattered.
Behind the mysterious wall
The tongues have transformed,
They only lie.
Even the heart doesn’t
know,
What’s in your mind.
The clear stream of truth
is turned into swamp,
Perfection of evil everywhere.
Our mind is now full of
fear!
In green forest alive with
restrains,
The mind is held back.
Father I pray thee, ‘Protect
my country
From the engulfing
darkness,
From being held captive,
With a mind in fear!
Note: Not exact opposite but I tried clearing it up, and teach some lesson
side by side.
